After updating to Mac OS 10.9.2, my MOTU Audio Setup lost its Stereo in and out defaults.
Here is the way it used to be before the update:

And now after the update, as you can see, I can no longer access Default Stereo input or output:

I've tried everything, but cannot get the Default Stereo Input or Output to appear any longer.

Can you select in Mac Audio Preferences?

You might try deleting the plist for Apple's Audio/MIDI setup and creating a new setup from scratch. Of course after updating the OS repairing permissions is standard.

I just installed the audio drivers on my test partition running 10.9.2. Works fine with my stuff. Other than repairing permissions, try re-installing the audio drivers from the latest download at the MOTU site.

Same missing options here with the 828mkII. Setting the default input and output in AMS has never worked with the MOTU audio interfaces - MOTU Audio Setup has always been the only option here.

Tried other versions of the drivers and still same issue. I do not recommend deleting your MOTU firewire preferences if you are using something other than Main Outs. I use S/PDIF for default stereo/mains and only way to get that set again is to restore preferences from backup. At least the previous settings are sticking and not reverting to defaults.

Which has nothing to do with MOTU Audio Setup. Sorry, but I'm getting tired of OS updates breaking things. It appears to be a 828mk2 issue at this point.

I see the same window but don't have a problem with it - I think. I won't be able to test it fully until this weekend.
