I just bought a Mytek Stereo 192 ADC and want to use it as my master clock (and converter of course). I have a Digital Time Piece and two old 2408s. I have the DTP set up Word/Internal (the Mytek provides the time base via Word Clock). Is there any advantage to also sending WC to one of the 2408s, and then selecting that ("2408-1: Word Clock In") as the clock source from within DP? Or should I just leave it as "PCI-424: ADAT" (I use an ADAT cable to connect the DTP to the PCIe-424, not the "control" cable).
I just want to make sure I'm getting the best signal from the Mytek into DP8 (with the least amount of jitter, etc.).

We use Mytek converters here. And we use them for our house clock to clock all our HD192 and 2408mk3's. Our mytek first hits an antelope clock distribution box then out to all the units. In your case, I would just make sure all units are fed the same WC.
(BTW, the difference was quite noticeable to us when we first put the mytek and antelope in to feed our MOTU and PT interfaces. Then again, we have tossed all our PT rigs a few years ago.)

I already have my cables (and T-connectors) rigged so both the DTP and one of the 2408s (it's a MkII) are getting WC from the Mytek. I didn't bother with the 2nd 2408 (it's an original 2408) because the MoTU manual said not to connect more than one (the PCIe-424 will keep them in sync), plus there's no way to force it to clock externally that I can figure out. DP8 (or the PCI-424 utility) only let you select one clock source. If you know something different, please let me know.
Meanwhile, I still wonder what the best method is: slave the DTP to the Mytek and then tell the PCIe-424 to slave to the DTP ("PCI-424:ADAT), or slave the DTP to the Mytek and ALSO slave the 2408 MkII to the Mytek and set the PCIe-424 to slave to the 2408 MkII ("2408-1:Word Clock In")? Or does it even matter sound-wise???

Hmmm. We also have a DTP but it is not wired into the suite I was describing. And I actually forget why it was taken out of the loop there. Perhaps someone else can chime in?

Honestly the real reason I have a DTP is I used to use it to control a VTR via 9-pin!! I guess that dates me... (I also used to use the streamers and punches gunlock feature).
