Can't say the same is happening here. Forgive me if you already know this stuff, but firstly double click the home button which will allow you to 'flick up' on each open app , thus closing it and saving a little memory. After that hold down the home and power button at the same time until the iPad goes off, and keep holding them until the apple logo appears and the iPad reboots. If you're still having crashes you might need to do a clean reinstall.

I seem to have daily Safari crashes on my 3rd generation iPad when accessing Facebook especially when switching from "Most Recent" to "Top Stories" or vice versa.

I'm still on the older iOS 6 OS and have not updated anything.

Probably a FB issue or a WiFi router problem.

Not a real biggie in the overall scheme of things.

Mercury Web Browser

Paid and free versions, the free version does everything Safari does and a whole lot more.

DO NOT get Atomic Browser! It used to be the best, but has not been updated for iOS7.

+.05

I'm not seeing '...a lot...' of crashes, but I am seeing some, probably one every two or so browsing sessions. Seemingly random. And yes, everything is up to date, and no, I am not talking about trying to watch a flash animation or anything else exotic, just normal browsing.

Hasn't happened on my iPad Mini on ios7, but it is widely reported, possibly related to memory problems, lack of Flash support, bad web page code, etc. Anyway, Apply appears to have acknowledged the problem and will issue a fix in 7.1.

Apparently it makes no difference because in iOS you are restricted to using Webkit regardless of the browser, and the problem lies in Webkit, not Safari per se.

The only time Safari on my iPad Air crashes is on rare occasions with incoming Mail - less than once a day.

This is in contrast to my 1st gen iPad where Safari crashes about 50% of the time when I get Mail.

I don't recall a Safari crash when I wasn't receiving Mail.

Have you tried using the free Facebook iPad app?

I have and I have it on my iPhone, too.

On the iPad, I just like the way FB looks via Safari. On the iPhone I use the app.

Merci...
