DP 8.05 install issues...

I am having quite a bit of trouble getting DP 8.05 to recognize my PCIe-424 card. When booting DP I get the following message:
"The selected audio hardware could not be found. Check that the device is connected to your computer and turned on."
It shows up fine in MOTU Audio Console, sees everything correctly but DP will not recognize it.
- tried every available PCIe slot to make sure it wasn't a conflict.
- removed all other PCI cards except video card, and have tried two different video cards to rule that out.
- same card works in my mac no problem so it doesn't appear to be a faulty card.
- have installed latest drivers from MOTU and tried the "repair" function.
Any other ideas?
