Endless "Finishing sync" message in iTunes

Anybody get the seemingly endless "Finishing sync" message in iTunes? I have an iPhone 4 and it gets to the end and the message just doesn't seem to go away. The screen of the phone itself does not indicate sync is still happening. Ugh... I may just eject it soon anyway.

Can you hot the cancel sync button? Is iTunes and the phone software current?

iTunes is current. I just hit the little eject icon and it didn't complain. Seems fine. Nope... not current iPhone software and will never be. It's jailbroken iOS 6.1. Necessary not only because I like it that way and it's been that way for some time now, but I had the thing flashed to work on Cricket recently when I left Verizon. And yes, Cricket's data bandwidth leaves MUCH to be desired, but my monthly bill went from about $125 to $45, so for 80 clams a month, I'll bear with it. :)

Could it be detecting the jsilbreak?

A common bug. I ran into this about a week ago. Just hit "sync" again and wait for the iTunes update.

Nope... Apple is not (yet) that ruthless. Additionally they lost the legal battle and it's considered completely legal, although if you did it to a new phone it would void your warranty. The local utility, San Diego Gas & Electric, had an app that would refuse to run because the phone was jailbroken, which I thought was weak. What business is it of the electric company's right? They backed off of that though and it works now.

I tried running iTunes in 32-bit mode to see if that did anything. So far no good. I was concerned thought that iCal did not update with a change to an appointment I made in the phone. :( I've had iCal be sketchy like that before... also not recognizing repeating events... just the first day. :(

Doh... major case of operator error on my part. iTunes forgot my prefs. Like WHO would want to sync their contacts or calendar? LOL Those were unchecked. Makes perfect sense. LOL

Mavericks calendar and contacts syncing (don't know if this is specific to iTunes or Mavericks):

This "finishing sync" bug has been fixed for me in the latest update (11.1.3).
