System crash: Can´t reauthorize DP anymore...

Hi guys.
I was doing some tedious editing in DP in my laptop at home and the system crashed. After I recovered, DP doesn't want to open anymore. Instead, it presents me a dialog where I'm to enter my name and Key Code with the original Installation Disk inside.
The day after I did so at the studio, and to my dismay, my DP7 install disk appears blank to all my computers! I guess it simply went bad.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling DP7.24 from a downloaded image from MOTU, but it still wants the original disk.
I just sent MOTU's tech support an email about it. But in the mean time, I just want to know if I will have to wait to get a replacement disk, or if there's something I can do about it to avoid that and fix this right now?
I still want the original disk, of course, but this raised a very big and red flag of concern for me: What if this had happened in my production machine and I am in the middle of a project, like right now? I do have a couple of system clones, but I am not 100% sure DP was authorized already in them.
I can do these boring edits with my production machine at the studio, of course, so I'm not dying of trouble, just quite inconvenienced... But still. I'm just glad it didn't happen the other way around. Not the case, but... Uh-oh!?
Maybe I should make an image of the new Install CD when I get it? Would this work?
