Help converting to 44.1 to burn CD

In past (using DP 6) I would mix all my tracks to a single stereo audio track via a stereo BUS then convert the New mixed channel only to 44.1. I would then bounce that track to disc along with a master track. No when I do the same on DP 8, the original 48 KHz mix channel sounds fine, but when I convert it to 44.1, switch the project to 44.1, the track only plays my superior drummer tracks (no other instruments are heard). Its really weird and driving me crazy. I have repeated the steps numerous times with the same result. and yes, I turned the input on my mix channel off before converting to 44.1 so I didn't have the original signals still coming through that channel, just the recorded mix was playing (all instruments heard in 48, but when the project is switched to 44.1 that same channel only plays drums). Please help me.
