DP 8.04 Crashes when applying Audio plugs & more

Just started today. A few crashes when applying audio plugs. Also, some plugs are not working correctly. The Dynamics plug is D.O.A. and only gives a loud POP then the meters run but no sound. The MW EQ plug was working but now has gone south as well.

Also crashed after importing a file bounced from DP (stereo to mono) and a few other crashes just after processing something.

Maybe I'll try a reinstall and killing a few DP plists. Not a good day for DP overall. Haven't lost a ton of work as I save often, but things could be easier...

I'm ignorant to the cause at this point. I'm thinking it has more to do with Bundles but not why.

Then again... I just had my first crash at quit so it is time to kill all my plists. I repaired permissions earlier today and the crashes persisted but not with a crash at quit my next line of attack is the plists. I'll run RAM tests as well.

Ran memtest overnight. All good.

Killed DP preferences and MOTU Audio System Prefs. Problem gone with Dynamics plug. Replaced MOTU Audio System Prefs. Problem still gone. Replaced preferences. Problem back. Duh!

Here's where it gets interesting:

Went back and forth a few times between the old preference file and the "rebuilt" one and after the third attempt at replacing the old file, the problem was gone.

I guess it was like scratching an itch for DP 8.04. Eventually it said "Enough!!" and gave in. Seriously, it's pretty strange and I'll see how the day progresses. I have two reels to get thru by this evening (final post audio mix). We'll see how it goes...

May be a corrupt project file? If it works, who cares, but if it returns, may be worth replacing/rebuilding the prefs again and loading the sequences into a new project?

Just a wild blind guess...
