So, how lucky am I? I finally buy Omnisphere, and Groove 3 has recently produced a set of training videos for Omnisphere, featuring DP master EK himself! (Although he is running it inside Logic, but whatever.)

Omnisphere is a monster, but Groove 3's explanation of how it all works has brought the power of the synth into clear focus for me in just a couple of days. Thanks, you guys! Now when will you produce a video showing me how to adjust the v-brakes on my bike? (Because I gotta tell you, these guys on YouTube are the worst teachers ever.)

I like Groove3 a lot too.

But their software tutorials are 1000 times better than their music theory-related tutorials.

For instance, their song-writing tutorial, even with Eli Krantzberg as an instructor, is a joke.
I thought it was terrible, with nothing new to learn... He just plays these useless cheap porno-movie-sounding examples that bring nothing to the table, and I did not learn even one small thing I expected a totally different approach...

So, IMO, their software training videos are the ones worth looking at.

Even more, a Logic master. Going through his Logic tutorials, you end up wondering why we're not all using Logic. He makes it look too easy.

Hang on... I thought this was the genre we were all working on, hence the distinct lack of "adult" content here as we enjoy the escape from it all that this place provides.

FM, I'm only interested in the software tutorials. I wouldn't expect anybody to do a video series on "how to write a song" that was of much value.

But the software tutorials are the best. Or, to be really precise, I should say they fit my style of learning better than any I've ever seen.

It never fails that I learn about something new here. Egnater amps. I have to ask how you came across these. As a Bassist I somewhat keep up on the "new" market but never have I come across this. Looks really cool,

and not to highjack the thread I have gone back to all the different vids I've bought and re-watched different sections. E.K is the absolute best.

Jbyerly, I had been actively hunting for a studio amp for a couple of years (I was sick of amp models). I was looking for something that didn't really exist yet... extremely versatile, a lot of tonal control, and at a reasonable cost (I just can't justify the cost of a boutique amp). Everything I tried was either a one-trick pony (a hand-built tweed Princeton clone, for example), just plain sucked (Fender Blues Junior) or was awesome but cost much more than I wanted to spend (I'd love a 30-watt Fuchs Overdrive Supreme, but since I'm not just a working guitar player, 2K+ is right out).

But when Egnater introduced the Rebel 20, it got a lot of pre-sale buzz, and it just sounded like the precise thing I was looking for. I bought the 3rd one to arrive at my local GC, and I've used it ever since.

I liked it so much, I started a correspondence with Egnater, and ended up on their artist roster... I'm guessing they gave me the endorsement because they liked the way I use the amps (Egnater has a rep as a high-gain shredder amp). I own that first Rebel 20, a Tweaker 40 and a sealed back Egnater 1x12 cab. I also play the heads through an open back single 12 cab loaded with a Eminence Red Fang, and old Fender Bassman cab with a JBL 15 and a couple of really weird old movie projector cabs.

Agreed, Jim. Although I found it frustrating at first because it reflected too closely the ratio of "tweakage to product actually being produced" in my "studio", I now appreciate his efforts to provide sufficient background relevant to where he's taking us.

The reason I'm loving my All-Access Pass so much is just the opposite: I have spent so many years using my software in the ways I learned quickest - because my tweakage-to-production ratio was, like, 0/1,000 - that I knew I was missing out on a bunch of cool features that the rest of you guys knew about. Groove 3 is getting me there, and with the great tutorials on Kontakt and Omnisphere, well, all the better.

I'm finally learning the deep capabilities of the tools I use instead of just reaching for the same old way of doing it.

"Tweakage-to-production ratio" is a more succinct version of the phrase I used, and I love it.

Yep. I love groove3 too.. Got the All Access Pass! Well spent money!

Although some tutorials are plain time killers... Like the new Wavelab8 tutorial. Nothing new to learn... 2 video tutorials, hours to watch... blah-di-bah, never getting to the point. It´s taking for.. ever!!.. I fell asleep twice. No kidding!

However, the DP and Logic videos are really great, and most others that I watched I really appreciate. I have learned a lot from these tutorials. They have speeded up my workflow.

Also good for checking out software before buying. "Is this for me? or not?"

It's well deserved, Eli. I thought I would probably use the service for a year and that would do it, but I can see I'm going to want to renew my All-access Pass for another year.

Eli, you're the man, man.

You all sold me on this one. I'm very happy so far. One of the time saving tips alone made it worth the purchase. PLUS, it saved me $$ buying a VI that I thought was something I wanted but after watching the video it turns out to be something I don't think I would have used much. Thanks.
