Tip: cut & paste IRCAM Granular oscillators between keymaps

Hi fellow users...

Here's a little tip that I wanted to summarize for you all, since I just went through a long exercise in figuring out if this was possible (it was, and it was easy) :)

I had built up a program that had two keygroups, one of which contained two IRCAM granular sample oscillators. I loved the sound I had, but then wanted to tweak the tuning of one of the two oscillators relative to the other. Unfortunately, there is no way to do this within a single keygroup, so I wanted to cut one of the oscillators (including the granular synth settings) from this keygroup and paste it to new keygroup.

I'll spare you my many unsuccessful and convoluted attempts involving option / right / shift / control clicking and dragging all over the place..

In the upper right corner of the oscillator section of the GUI there is a disk icon that allows you to save oscillator settings as a user preset. Once you save your preset, simply create a new keygroup in the tree view, assign the IRCAM Granular oscillator to the key group, and you can load the settings from the preset drop down menu on the upper right hand corner of the oscillator section. Load up the same sample used in the original oscillator and you are in business - easy!

It was so obvious after the fact that I am a little embarrassed posting this, but I figured someone out there might stumble over this too.

Best,

Chris

Well, you can tweak the tuning of the two oscillators separately.
Just toggle off the little link icon in the header of the oscillator section of the edit panel and voila !
You now only edit the currently selected oscillator.

hope this helps.

Hey that's great I did not know that - I'm still getting my mind around M5. I'll check that out.

Thanks a lot!
