Machfive 3.1.4 stops seeing iLok authorization [RESOLVED]

Today my MachFive 3.1.4 stopped seeing my iLok authorization on my MacPro. I have this installed on my MacBook as well and it works fine there so it's not an issue with the iLok itself. I reinstalled the 3.1.4 update, fixed permissions on the system drive and have rebooted. Any other suggestions? I've tried opening the stand alone version as well as what I was working on just last night and both give me the same not authorized prompt asking for an authorized ilok to be inserted. I re-synched my iLok at the iLok site but still no luck. As I said, the iLok is fine since it works on my Laptop. Would greatly appreciate any advice. Need to update my signature. I'm running OS 10.7.5 currently.

Thanks in advance,

Bg

Not that this means anything, but it's a start: Is it both in stand alone and in DP (or other host?) of just in one or the other?

Thanks for getting to me so quickly. Yes it currently is showing the same behavior in both stand alone and with in my Logic project. I've also tried different projects just to make sure it wasn't an issue with the one project file. I'll try a DP project and see if I have any luck there.

Same for a DP project. It shows not authorized and asks for the iLok to be inserted.

A few things I'd do. but first... Go to the Pace site and verify the license. I know you're seeing it on one machine, but from the machine that is giving you problems, go to the Pace site and see if the Pace site reads the license. If it does, then I'd suspect a wonky MachFive plist or something along those lines. Reinstalling the MacFive app as well as the Pace software (which I think you said you have already done) would be my basic troubleshooting, but that won;t necessarily delete a bad plist or invisible authorization file, at least I don't think it will.

It might also be the USB port on the machine. This should be verifiable when you go to the Pace site since they won't see the iLok to verify it.

If you have another iLok, try moving the auth to that.

Let us know how it goes. A techlink or call to MOTU might be in order as well.

Good luck.

I'm using a Belkin usb hub and the problem appears to be with it. When I inserted my iLok directly into the computer all was well. Time for a new hub I guess.

Thanks for your help,

Hub-a-hub-a! That was too easy. Happy to help, man.

I've had this with Izotope's plugs in the pass.
Conneting the ilok directly into the computer instead of a hub cleared it for me.

I had a similar problem. Every time I turned off my iMac I lost my authorization and had to re-install the drivers. PACE suggested I verify my disk permissions and apply a fix. That did the trick. Hope this helps

Some hubs do work. I have an IOGear FW/USB powered hub. The FW side crashes FW on my Mac - so I have stopped using that part. The USB portion is great and my iLok works fine with it.

Is your USB hub powered or passive?

It is powered but will work without the power adaptor for ilok applications. It seems to have cleared itself up as I have not had any issues since then and I've gone back to using the hub. So far so good.
