Hi all,

That's it, in a nutshell. My Mach 5.3 can see everything else in on my sounds disk (Mach 5.2 files, Kontakt stuff, Spectrasonics, all that) except the new .ufs files that came with it.

How do I force it to see them?

Thanks

Have you been able to see then before? Or is this a new install?

Try going to the Preferences/Soundbanks in MachFive (under the wrench icon or cmd-, (command and the comma key) and locates the folder or files there. I check all the boxes (i.e.- recursive, etc).

Thanks Mike, that worked....sort of. I can see and open the files that came with Mach 5.3, but when I choose my "Sounds" disk (where everything resides), which is under a tab called "Devices" in the left hand column, and then choose a Mach 5.2 file, that file pops up under a tab called "Places" (left hand column again) but greyed out.

I accidentally discovered (just clicking around) a process called "Indexing volumes" which looks like it might be doing something useful, but judging by the progress bar I may have to wait until next week to find out what it's done.

This is a new installation.

Ok, Indexing didnt fix it.

This aint exactly intuitive. The description of "Places" in the manual says....

"The Places list displays volumes or folders you have identified as a favorite."

Ok, but how do I get the file, say, MachFive2DVD4-VSL_Orch.ufs to show up there, which is at the top level of my "Sounds" disk and not in a folder?

So then I see the description of "Soundbanks": "The Soundbanks list displays volumes or folders you have identified as a favorite." That's right....exactly the same as Places

I just figured out how to get the .usf files into "Soundbanks" so I guess the will do, but do you know how to increase the width of the "Source List' column? I cant read the names of the .usf files.

Thanks
