Hello everyone! After years of lurking and siphoning your knowhow to fix my studio problems, I've decided to register.

I wasn't sure where exactly to post this, as it's just a non-os specific question, but here goes:

After years of it sitting in my rack going unused (sigh, fantasy studio dreams...), I finally decided to try and incorporate my digital timepiece into the fray.

My question is one that we all must ask ourselves about the gear we have purchased:

Is it completely and utterly obsolete already? Did I waste my money?

All of the projects I've worked on in the last few years have been 23.976 frame rate, which wasn't even a format back when the DTP was manufactured and sold.

The DTP manual boasts pull down .01%, but I doubt it would work with a 24fps rate.

Any thoughts? Is it workable or should I just offload it?

Make sure to check the MOTU website for updates, as it's possible they have increased its feature set to include more recent frame rates. I don't know, because I sold my unit a few years back.

As far as I know, it is NOT obsolete and is STILL the most full-featured clockable MIDI interface on the market. I sold mine because it was overkill for my needs. You could spend a lifetime discovering new features in this unit that you didn't know about before!

If you bought it a long time ago, you may need the $20 chip set to bring it up to spec.
