using dp8 and live 9 together

i finally upgraded to dp8 after a long break, i have a bunch of ideas already half done in live, i would like to import those 'loops' into dp and keep working... how do you guys who use both deal with this sort of thing? rewire everything? or tranfer all the MIDI and audio over in loops? i assume the processor would be maxed more quickly running both
also, if any of you are in nyc (i'm in riverdale,bx) and would like to teach a few lessons regarding setting up and working with this setup, i am looking for something like that

Hi, sorry I didn't notice this earlier. I use Live and DP almost 50/50.
Mostly I tend to rewire if I'm still working at loop level, DP is good at this but Live is made for it. It's not that much of a processor hit to run both, but remember Live loses all ability to host VSTs and AU. Plus to my total chagrin it's incapable of hosting it's deep integration with Max4Live while in reWire. So if you're using Max devices or have a lot of FX on the loops etc. it's best to render all tracks as audio and drag them into DP. Set the temp to exactly the tempo in Live before you import the rendered Live tracks and you can edit them to loop etc. much easier. Live is strict with it's ideas on loops etc. DP tends to think you might want to have an off beat loop, so having the right tempo before import is important.
Mostly work flow wise I do tend to render audio from Live then import it into DP, that way I can preprocess a loop or track in Live.

thanks for the reply, as much as i can see the advantage of these two programs, few people use this combination.
I've been trying to rewire the two with no luck, i make an aux track and ableton shows up as an option, then i open ableton and dp8 can't see the MIDI outs... very frustrated. however i think using them separately will be a more common way of working... i'm starting over again in dp and still just learning live...

Hi have been using Live from live 5 and successfully rewired it to DP until somehow DP8/live9 rewire didn't work anymore.
Until right now where i just updated to DP8.04 and Live 9.04
back in business! finger crossed for no crashes now
