Can anyone quickly explain to me how to group Faders in Audiodesk3 so they will all move simultaneously when you move only one?
Thanks!!

Although many of us have Autodesk - it came with our interfaces, very few of us use it having moved up to Digital Performer.
DP has a mini menu called Create Group that allows you to group faders and perform other tasks. I would think that Autodesk has a similar menu. You may have to go through the manual to find it.

I haven't used AudioDesk in quite a while, but if it is anything like DP try this:
1. Hide all channels in the mixing console except the ones you want to temporarily group and tweak.
2. Hold down "W".
3. Change the level of any of the faders, and they'll track as a group until you release the W.

Thanks cuttime, that was actually helpfull, but unfortunately it didn't work. And the instruction guide says nothing about this, but there has got to be a way.

Register your interface on the MOTU web site. AudioDesk is the current version. Put in a Tech Note for Support.
Let us know the answer.

I just took a look at in the Commands window in AudioDesk and there appears to be no group functions. Search turns up nada, so I would guess there is no grouping at all.

You are correct NazRat. I contacted Motu's tech support, and there is simply no option provided for this most basic function. Now don't get me wrong, I love MOTU, and exclusively use their gear. But to omit this element, perhaps to prompt someone to pony up for thier more expensive suite of software, is disgusting. I mean this is basic. So, you failed Motu, cause I'm not ponying up, and I will move my faders independantly, waste time, and curse your name everytime I have to do it. LOL...hope you are happy....and I'm not bitter at all.
Of course I suppose someone smart could write a plugin or upgrade that allows this, but I haven't found it yet. Oh well.

IMHO we're long overdue for an update to AudioDesk so if/when, maybe they've planned to include some grouping functionality. Plus, you can always leave a suggestion at the MOTU site.

The upgrade from AudioDesk to DP really doesn't cost a fortune. So giddy up!

This is a little off topic, and doesn't really pertain to AudioDesk, but does anyone use fader grouping anymore in DP? These days, if I have multiple tracks that need to be mixed together, I just always bus them to a group aux and adjust the fader there. I haven't done fader grouping in a couple years, actually. I don't see any advantage.
As for edit grouping? All the time.
