It makes no sense to me that every time I open the MWequaliz

... I must enable each band for it to work. I mean - they all come up at zero so if you don't want to mess with one just leave it alone, right? But if I just grab one upon opening the plug to boost or cut what I want (of course) nothing will happen unless I go and enable that particular one.
Yes - we are spoiled but with thousands of mouse movements every day I hate to be using so many with absolutely no purpose except to enable something which should be enabled when I open it up.
Rant complete. And hoping someone will post back : "dummy - you don't have to do that, you can just......."

Why not save "all on" as a preset? Two mouse clicks instead of seven.

What Cuttime said: save a preset with all on, or even with a setting that you use a lot.

You know, I know we get to pick nits every so often, but this doesn't seem that big a deal. And there may be a reason. I could be to preserve processor cycles. Some plugs were designed when Macs weren't as possible and it just might be that any "active" band, even if flat, would put a small load on the CPU and at one time it was worth coding a plug-in as to avoid that by having to activate a band first. That behavior, BTW, isn't that uncommon in EQ plugs from what I've seen.

Yep, or save a preset like that already inserted into a channel within the main templates and just option drag it to any channel. The point is there is no reason to have to do that. If I open a parametric eq it means I want to drag that crap around - and I mean
right now!!!!

I'm opening up new instances of that plug 7 days a week so it adds up - and for any modern computer it's completely unnecessary. With age and borderline carpal tunnel every click of the mouse matters.
If there is any good reason to leave it as is then fine, but I don't think there are any.

Sorry you didn't find what you wanted but THANKS! I didn't know I could do that. That's going to save a lot of mouse clicks on my end!

In DP8 the window you use to select plugins is the same one you use to select presets. So once you've saved the eq plugin with all bands activated, it's the same number of clicks to open that as it is to open the plugin with all the presets deactivated.

Furthermore, you can save ALL the plugins for a given channel strip using the topmost slot. That saves each plugin's preset in that channel as well. For each channel that will be using those same plugins, you can then load the channel preset in that top slot, and all the plugins will appear, ready with their presets. That gives you an instant starting point that's going to be close to all the settings you want for each channel, if not exactly the same. Save it with a name that identifies what it is for you, because you will be able to load this into other projects as well.

When I was an intern at Cherokee, I had to zero the boards after sessions. Just saying'.

Most EQ's seem to have have bands engaged or activate as soon as you grab a point to move it. I would not mind it if Masterworks EQ worked this way.

I think the one in MachFive works that way so who knows, maybe just a matter of time. Then again, I thought I had heard that MOTU jobbed that software out to another company, so maybe not.

Well could be they need to update it. I find the banter about "carpal tunnel" due to MWEQ to be a bit hyperbolic, but hey, this is an internet forum!
