Thrilling! ... and importing exs24 instruments very well!

Wow..... am loving MachFive 3 (with new update too). So glad I upgraded and re-visited this instrument!

(Love it so much, I'm going to update to DP8 as well and go back to DP after a few years of using Logic 8. I only went to Logic because of the built-in sampler and all the effects and everything else that came with it for the price..... but, the MachFive 3 is a game changer for me!)

It's also doing a very credible job of importing my EXS24 library..... some misses, but more hits than misses. Very high batting average, and if it can't find the samples, using the 'Device/EXS Samples location/library/' usually does the trick.

Some import attempts actually crash the MachFive, but not very many at all. Of course, I haven't had the chance to go through everything!

If an instrument crashes MachFive when I attempt to play a note, I can reload it and then go ahead and save the program and sample together again as a MachFive program...... fantastic!

Even doing a nice job on my Kirk Hunter library, with the correct keyswitches as well.

I'd love to hear of, or know of, any other tips for EXS24 importing.

Nice job MOTU and everyone else!

I'm assuming this is the EXS24 version you're talking about? I have the Kontakt version of Concert Strings 2, which I couldn't imagine will translate well?
Though I don't remember the EXS24 being able to do key switching?

Yes, I have the EXS24 version of KH instruments. The majority of all my other EXS instruments translate perfectly well too, including Apple Loops. I'll get the odd crash, and aren't sure why yet.

I have to 'find the samples' for some instruments, but then I can use the MachFive 'Save Program and Samples' to fix it for future use.

I don't use any Native Instrument stuff, but I understand that they are very difficult to get into MachFive.

Oh yeah..... the KH 'Concert Strings' are troublesome in the EXS version...... can't get them into MachFive.

Any ideas out there?

Yea, it's pretty nice.

Not everyone is aware that there were two MachFive updates released last month.

Here is the other one, just in case you didn't get it.
