Lost Configure Audio System

Searched a couple different ways and couldn't find a thread on this...
DP 7.24 running on 10.6.8
I've lost the ability to configure the audio system. Just poof! It's gone. The Firepod is recognized by the Mac because I can choose it in the Syst Pref>Sound, but not in DP. It's grayed out in he Setup menu. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Try reinstall and update the audio drivers.
repair permissions.
Delete DPs pref file.

Thanks for the help. So, I reinstalled DP 7.24 (from MOTU.com), repaired permissions in Disc Utility, and went to users>library>preferences>digital performer>preferences and deleted "preferences." When I open DP I get this message right when it starts opening:
"The Audio Driver was not loaded"
And when I go back to preferences I find the one I just deleted there again, with a question mark on it. Basically its not allowing me to delete it.
What next?
Thanks!

Here's another tidbit. I just switched user on the iMac and opened DP and the audio driver loaded fine.

Do a Get Info on the preference file and see if you have write/read permissions.

At the bottom of the Preferences Info, under "Sharing and Preferences" it says:
"You can read and write."
Still no resolution to this. Any help is appreciated.

I didn“t mean you should do those things in that specific order.. just info about what you can try to fix the prolem.
Thing is, what we want is an unclutterd PREF file to start with, so by deleting it and restart DP, DP will create a NEW pref file. This is our goal. So leave the new one there.
I got this messege "The Audio Driver was not loaded" last week, after installing JBridge.
As "The Audio Driver was not loaded" DP only loaded in MIDI mode.
So what I did was to open DP and go to SET UP. Go to Configure Audio Hardware and select your interface. That did the trick.
Hope this helps.
