DP8 64 bit and altiverb 7 Help!

Post by jjas7 »

I can't get DP8 to see my altiverb plugin. I was told by audio ease that the MAS plugin won't work with 64 bit until altiverb 7.1 arrives. In the meantime, they told me to install the audio unit of altiverb 7.0.5 because DP8 will recognize that version in 64 bit.

I installed the audio unit successfully, but DP8 still doesn't see it.

Any advice?

Thanks.

Did you pull the Altiverb related MAS file out of the MAS folder and put it in another place like the desktop?
If the MAS file is still in place,Altiverb will not run as a AU plug,Altiverb will still try to run as an MAS plug.
Also am I understanding correctly, after you installed the AU inspection took place?

I hope what I'm saying makes sense. ;-)

You don't have to remove the MAS component for Altiverb. Mine is still sitting there. It isn't seen by DP, but it's there. I remember having trouble getting Altiverb AU to show up initially, but it soon worked itself out. I don't remember how. There were SO many issues to deal with, the last thing I needed was for Altiverb not to work. It does seem like maybe i had to download and reinstall it. Not sure about that, but it may have been what fixed it. Then I had to select it in the Plugin Prefs.

I deleted the MAS file and it still didn't work. I don't think I understand your question. I installed the AU and looked in the plugins folder...it's definitely in there.

Are you using Altiverb 7 or 7.0.5? I'm wondering if it would work with 7 instead of 7.0.5.

I figured it out. You have to go into DP8 preferences/plugins/

Then you have to enable the plugin that isn't showing up. Now it works perfectly.

Glad you figured it out,I was thinking about a problem I had with an Izotope plug I had in DP7 that wouldn't work as a MAS plug.
The approach I recommended worked in 7.24 for the Izotope issue(it was a carbon/cocoa conflict)it crashed as a MAS plug but worked fine as a AU plug.

Just to verify, please...

So the newest version of Altiverb 7.xx is 100% compatible with DP 8 in 64 bit?

Thanks...

Hey Shoosh, your sig says 10.8.6

Did they make another version of Mountain Lion after 10.8.5?

I just updated to 10.9, and I wondered if I missed a ML version?

Carry on..

Sorry for the delay. A winter storm set me back to the 19th century for a few days.

No, you're right. It's supposed to be 10.8.5. I probably hit the wrong key while changing it.

Fixed!
