Resuming the posts on Reason and DP8 I just want to mention that I got a quick response from Lorne from MOTU saying that they're aware of the problem and they are working on it.

Yes - I posted on one of the other related threads about this - it seems to have been narrowed down to a CoreMidi issue as a common factor causing crashes - Lorne has responded to me on this.

Hope this is sorted out soon, for my DP projects often include Reason as VI, mainly Redrum and NNXT.

Here's the news:
On my own setup DP8 seems to work properly with Reason.
Both app are set to 32 bit, OS is 10.6.8.
Older project seems to act just as it did with DP7.24

BTW, I'm testing DP8 on a clone drive (SuperDuper).
Don't know why, but I had to set Reason in 32 bit again on the clone drive.

Have not tried any DP8 bounce, yet.
Just plaid instruments in Reason rack from DP8 thru Rewire.

I am pleased for you but I am on 10.7.5 so it may be that as an issue - either way Motu admit there is a problem which needs a bug fix. Whether it works on Snow Leopard is interesting and perhaps Motu can learn from that.

To use Reason with Rewire make sure you are running DP as a 32 bit app. Ableton Live has the same problem on both Mac and Windows.

After pushing somewhat 32bit/DP8/Reason6.5.2/OS10.6.8, got a few crashes.
Mostly while arming a different MIDI track, thru Novation SLMKII keyboard.
Happens in multirecord on, and multirecord off as well.

I'm back to DP7.24 for some production times.
Booh!

No - DP8 crashes with Reason whether they are both on 32 bit or both on 64 bit - trust me! daniel.sneed is getting similar CoreMidi crash logs to myself - so clearly not just on Lion as he is on Snow Leopard.

Good news from Lorne:
*This issue is fixed in DP 8.01, which should hopefully be released within the next few weeks.*

BTW, I'm stumped about how responsive Motu website support is. Response came within a single day.

Now waiting for this great new release.

Good to hear the .01 update is coming that will address the Reason problem.

I heard they were going to be issuing the Windows version of DP at the same time as the update to the Mac version. Please tell me this is true.

First tests with DP8.01/Reason6.5.2/OS10.6.8/32bit.
So far so good. Will investigate further ASAP!

Yes - same here. Still testing but so far all the editing and recording I have done using DP8.01 and Reason 6.5.2 rewired and in 64 bit has been good. Occasional messages about being out of memory - which then go away and it still seems to work okay.
