Stop Button Appears to Stick

Looking for suggestions on this one. On occasion, the stop button appears to stick. I use the number pad on the computer keyboard (0, 1, 3 and ENTER) for stop, rewind, record and play. Sometimes, looking at the monitor, after hitting the ZERO key, the STOP button appears to be stuck down. If I press ZERO again, the button releases and everything is fine.

If I've hit ZERO and don't notice that it stuck, and then press DECIMAL and put in a measure number, nothing happens because the STOP button was stuck. When I hit ZERO again to unstick the button, the measure number is entered that I put in during the stick.

If you read my post about the live performance disaster, I assumed that this behavior was related to the TASCAM 428, which is now retired. I was using DP this morning with USB directly to the Kronos and it happened again.

Any ideas?

• Try using the commands window to set it to a different key to determine if it's the keyboard, DP, or some combination of the two.

• Try another keyboard.

• Clean the contacts under the key or at least blow it out if you haven't already.

It's definitely not the keypad causing the problem. I've had it on 2 laptops, with the onboard embedded keypad, wireless bluetooth keypad and a usb keypad.

I've been thru some trouble with transport commands a while back.
Sometimes DP is waiting for the button release.

My workaround was:
- click data entry place in command window
- press button
- click anywhere in empty space in command window
- release button
Then you're sure DP will listen only to press and will forgive release.

Hope this may help.
