Where is the Windows Version?

The only reason I ordered the DP8 upgrade now was to check out the Windows version. DP is really the only reason I use my Mac anymore and I was considering a switch to Windows. When I opened the package I was disappointed to see the Mac version only and that the Windows version would be shipped when it was ready. This was very irritating. Was news about this situation on the MOTU site and I missed it? Does anyone have an idea of when the Windows version will arrive?
On a side note, how many of you love the removal of scroll arrows in Lion? It makes my work more difficult since I have to use a touch pad and fine control is harder. I've heard the same from graphic artists.
Thanks,
Brian

I doubt anyone but MOTU knows when the Windows version will be available. I knew when I ordered it would not in the package. I found that out either here or on the MOTU site, but I'd have to say reading the MOTU info you would likely think it was going to be in the package.
Scroll bars: if you miss them, turn the back on. System Preferences > General > Show Scroll Bars > Always

Thanks, but this is not what I mean. I'm talking about
scroll arrows, not scroll bars. They are those little arrows at the end of the scroll bars that have disappeared as of Lion or the last earlier version of OS X and there is no way to get them back other than a 3rd party utility which to my knowledge has not been written yet.

The arrows appear in some apps and not in others. I see them in DP but not in Safari. Perhaps whether to display them is determined by the app.

You may be talking about something specific to DP. But they are no longer part of Mac OS X. See this thread:

Nevertheless, scroll bar arrows appear in some apps. Presumably the designers thought they were helpful. The take away from the thread is that with any up to date tracking device and two fingers you can move a few pixels in any direction from anywhere in a window.

That's true, but I still miss the arrows. For example, I do scoring in Finale, and trying to change a time signature is much trickier now since I have to very carefully slide a scrollbar with my trackpad rather than clicking the arrows to get exactly one increment.

You don't need scroll arrows in Mac OS, BTW. Just click and hold in the scroll bar above or below the indicator and the window will scroll.
The little picture of an arrow may be gone but the function remains.

Come on, this isn't what I mean. Of course you can do this, but the scroll arrows allowed for exact single increment control. That's no longer available in Mac OS X. Bottom line is, Apple made a big mistake with this and should put them back. A lot of people are bothered by it - composers, graphic artists, people working with large spreadsheets, etc. In my case, I had to buy a "magic" trackpad which I never wanted.

Why would anyone try to navigate a spreadsheet with scroll arrows? If you can't work entirely with a keyboard in a spreadsheet, you have the wrong app.

That's hard to believe. (that you never wanted a Magic Trackpad) The Magic Trackpad is the greatest input device I've ever used. Get a 3rd party system prefs panel called JiTouch, and you'll have a world of shortcuts open up to you which makes the Magic Trackpad like a trackball with a hundred buttons. After a while, it's like your hand speaks sign language to the mac, which understands and responds to it.
Kensington quit making my favorite trackball, so I'd started collecting old ones for parts. I was so committed to the old "Expert Mouse Pro" (wireless) that I couldn't imagine living without it. Then I got a Magic Trackpad. Within one day I had put my trackball in a closet, and I haven't looked at it since.

Hi Shooshie,
Just ran across your comment/endorsement of Apple's Magic Trackpad-JiTouch combo. Now I'm curious! Would you mind giving a few examples of how you use them for DP: what tasks and what gestures? It would be amazing to see how someone so experienced with DP and the software-hardware combo actually sets things up. If 'n' you don't mind!
Best,
Joel

FYI, got a reply from MOTU CS today that said it would be a "month or so" before the windows version would arrive.

At the super terrific happy hour DP 8 launch event in Lo Angeles this week (did I mention they also fed us?) the question about the Windows release was asked and answered. Not a specific time frame but pretty soon and likely to coincide with the 8.1 update to DP 8 for Mac.
Oh, and those new plug ins? They'll have factory presets! Whew!
