I keep hearing rumors of a pdf manual....would love to be able to put this on my iPad. I logged into my MOTU account but couldn't find anything.
Is this rumor or does it really exist?
Thx

I read somewhere on MotuNation that It's on DP 8 installation CD and that it could be found in the DP contents file.

The PDFs are embedded in DP8. You can either open it in the program, where it will open in Preview and you can then save it to the hard drive... or you can dig through the contents of DP8 by right-click-and-holding the program icon.

Got it! Just did the "Show Package Contents," grabbed the pdf's and putting them on my iPad.
Now that I don't have to wrestle the unwieldily 17 pound manual, I might actually use it!

It's for things like this I really want an iPad. Especially when so many apps don't come with printed manuals. Reading long texts on a computer screen isn't something I like doing. And as I have no iPad (yet) I've had no big wish for a PDF manual.
But... What if... This turns out so well for MOTU that they decide to ship DP9 with no printed manual!?

Not only lighter than the paper book, but more searchable, more easily bookmarked and crossreferenced... I love having the manual on an iPad. It's made my goal of completely relearning DP much easier.

I've got everything loaded on the iPad now and I have to say, the manual takes on a whole different feel. Just being able to quickly flip through, bookmark, etc., is just fantastic.
Thanks, Gravity Jim for helping me on this one!

Same here. That and control surface apps. But I'm going to wait and have a look at the iPad mini, expected in a couple of weeks.

Yeah the mini looks like one I'd like to get as well, small enough to carry around easily, large enough to probably be nice for reading and large enough to be useful for control apps.
The wifi version looks like it will be cheap enough for many of us to buy without feeling too $$ drained.

I can´t wait to get DP8 and put the manual in my iPad, along with all other manuals.
What I love is that, with something like iAnnotate, you can mark, make comments, highlight, take notes, etc., and things will stay synchronized with all computers and iDevices
