DP8 install: screwing up v7.24 audio input assignments?
Anyone else who installed DP8 discovering that their track input assignments are getting jumbled when you re-open projects?
I've never had this issue before, but after installing DP8 and (like many of us) having to return to 7.24 in order to actually get work done, I notice my audio input bus assignments change when I re-open a project.
It's like, Surprise, Surprise!! That Aux channel you had setup to receive input from bus 9-10, well now it's set to receive input from 12-13! Fun fun! Oh, and that other Aux channel set to receive input from bus 3-4, well by gosh, now it receives input from 7-8! Keeps you on your toes, doesn't it!
This would all be fine and dandy if the audio outputs of the tracks assigned to Aux channels changed in accordance, but they don't. They stay the same. So, I have to go through and reassign the inputs of all my Aux channels set to receive stereo bus inputs. It's the weirdest bug.
I'm not 100% sure, but I THINK it occurs when I change my studio setups audio output from my Apogee Ensemble to 'Built in Digital Output', (and vice versa). It's fine when I do it in session. But when I close the session, and re-open it, the Aux channel inputs are wacked.
Breathing deeply and seriously regretting installing DP8.

Yes - had this with Reason Outputs having sorted out Rewire to work. I had to re-link all the assignments with Reason.

If it turns to be true on any setup, then very bad news.
All may projects are heavy on aux tracks (rewire, VIs return, effects, sub-master).
Please, share any info on this subject.

Not happening to me here. In fact, I've never had it happen, ever, in
any version of DP.

I've never had it happen until I installed DP8. It now occurs in my v7.24 projects. It's fixable for sure, but a real pain. If you open a project and suddenly things sound all kinds of wrong, like you're missing entire sections of instruments, check your audio input bus assignments, they may have shifted to an entirely different set of inputs.David Polich wrote:Not happening to me here. Not here. I've opened a number of old projects, and they ran as if I'd been working on them just yesterday. Nothing wrong with them at all. So far…
If one of my projects ends up breaking its routing connections or input assignments, I'll let you know, but I'm a couple of weeks into DP8 now, and it's been working fine in that regard. No problems.
