Zoom feature does not work

I`m on MAC OSX 10.7.5 and the zoom mode in waveforms does not work anymore im M5v3 ( standalone mode ). It worked correctly before but today it seems that this feature "disappeared". I checked my system prefs and my Logitech trackball settings, but can`t find a solution. Any tips appreciated.
