Can't be too far behind, but there will be very few current members who really care all that much. Traditionally, we're all on Macs with a few folks who swing both ways, but not with DP - which is, to date, "heteroplatformual."
At this point, I'm just a voyeur who will watch and observe the birthing of that experimentation. Should the opportunity arise that I find myself in a ménage à trois with DP and a PC, well, then I have to decide if I want to come home from Fry's with that big strong high priced Mac that is starting to look like a cell phone, or the lower priced, but somewhat skankier Windows beauty who promises me a good time at less of a hit on my wallet, also promises to love me until death and then dies faster than my big Macs ever did?
Generally, I think you get what you pay for. We've already established what Mac and PC are and that DP will go home with either of them. The question (after how much it will cost) is will I still respect myself the next morning?
Or, in short:
I don't know.
Aside: What I'd
like to know is if MOTU is offering both platforms to ALL purchasers as MakeMusic does with Finale, or do you have to order separately for each platform?

Hi,
DP4 was the last version I used, and that was a long, long time ago
Currently working with Cubase 6.5 (PC) and very happy with what it offers. If DP8 on (PC) is released, and is very solid, and efficient I don't mind buying an upgrade version of DP8 from MOTU, and giving it a spin. I'm sure DP8 has come a long, long way from the days of DP4, which was quite buggy at the time on Mac OSX.
Looking forward to try DP8 on PC.
Cheers,

DP5 was a giant departure for MOTU and 7 even giant-er! DP is more like DP7 in many ways, but there are also GUI and logistics changes that make more sense. Little things like putting the bounce to disk under FILE and not under AUDIO. It shows thinking more along the lines other programs and, more importantly, in a more logical way.
Adding a PDF manual is by far the biggest change to come along in many years and that is a very good thing! Lots of new features and once we have a good way to host 32 bit plugs in a DP launched in 64 bit and the movie & GUI stuff is hammered out - it's going to be hard to beat DP.
But for all the aspects to be hammered out in a later release, DP running 32 bit is truly awesome so far.

Why do I think eventually your new name will be:
MLswingsbothways?
or
foragoodtimetryML?
The crisis will be a thing of the past and
either way I will not respect you any more or any less in the morning then I do presently.
now I need to go take a hot bath in my local sump.........

I didn't think you could leave the water. Aren't you using DP Aqua?
