Ordered DP7 Compatative Upgrade for a client of mine from my MOTU provider in Sweden. He wrote me back and said that MOTU will deliver DP8 instead as DP7 is not sold anymore.
Conclusion?

All they did was take your pre-order. Until it's on my HD and running I'm staying on DP 7. That's my story and I'm sticking to it...

It let me order an upgrade but didn't specify which version I'd be getting. That's good enough for me. V8 is in the mail.

Actually, that doesn't make any sense. Send date is still going to be the same whether it's US or Europe. Just because it might take 5 extra days to get to Sweden doesn't mean that they're in any more of a position to wait for DP8 then we are.
I believe that MOTU ships directly from their headquarters in Massachusetts. At least, that's what the address is on the packages shipped to me, and I'm up in Alaska, which is farther than Sweden. If they had regional distributors, they'd probably have a west coast distributor too. I would assume that their online store is pretty simple, everything sent out from Mass. Then they have their retail outlets all over the globe. I dunno, maybe I'm wrong though.

She did say "MOTU provider" not MOTU. As far as I know MOTU is not taking pre-orders. Perhaps the provider has inside information. But I would assume MOTU would announce the release in the USA before sending copies overseas. Just a wild guess. I'll check with my foreign policy advisor...
