Adding Aux Send introduces phasing

I've suddenly encountered a strange phenomenon: I'm bussing drum tracks to two different busses, each with a different Bus Limiter plug-in (UAD 4K Buss Comp and UAD Bus Limiter). In this mix I'm using FX Send 3/4 to send the 4K Bus to a reverb plug-in. Everything sounds fine. But I want to send the other Drum Bus to the same reverb. As soon as I select FX Send 3/4 in the second Drum Bus channel strip, there is phasing introduced. THIS IS EVEN WITH THE SEND TURNED ALL THE WAY DOWN!!? As soon as I get rid of FX Send 3/4 on the second Bus channel, things sound normal again.

Please help, Wise Ones!

This has happened to me if I add an aux track and then insert a processor while the track is playing. Stopping playback and restarting corrects the problem. I think that its because is all latency is compensated for when a track starts playing, so that instantiating a new plug-in while playing does not have a chance to have its latency corrected.

Thanks cr, but stopping and re-starting does not correct this. It does seem like a Delay Compensation-related issue, though. This is happening in more than one project, as well.

Actually now when I add an effects send I'm losing the ability to control the knob....and DP seems very sluggish overall.

Anyone?

I may be way off the mark here, but are your plugins set to Run in Real Time?

Cheers

Do all plug-ins do this, or just UAD plug-ins (just curious)?

I have my plugs running in real time, never thought about it but that's probably the cause for the behavior.

I was thinking the problem might be to do with them not running in real time....

Sounds like you're onto something, Stephen. I'll check that today.

Thanks for the input!

I'm having a similar problem, specifically with the UAD-2 plugins. Did you ever manage to sort it out?

I have encountered this behavior a few times, what worked for me was going into bundles and moving the bus to a different channel/s. I don't know why, but the problem went away.
