Firewire & Word Clock

Hi all
I have a 828mk3 (firewire) interface connected to the mac running (DP7). Need some advice on word clock.
Firstly with regards the mac pros spdif connections if I create a aggregated device in the Apple Audio setup and ad these ports to it assigning clock to the 828 should I have any problems? And what's the best option with drift (on or off)?
Secondly if I purchase another 828 (mk2 or 3) and aggregate them as above do I still need to connect the in to out word clock on the back of the units or does the mac take care of clock?
Finally (and the more important question) if I get a fire wire mixer/interface that has no word clock like the Alesis multimix or Mackie onyx and use this as an aggregated device with the 828 will I have problems?
I suppose basically if it's no word clock is it no good?
Cheers
Steve
