Missing Menu Bar in Mach5?

Hi guys,

I have just upgraded Machfive to the new 3.1.1 version (64 bit, Windows 7 is my OS)

I am trying to use Mach Five as just a synth. No samples. So I go into edit mode and the interface has basically 3 main areas

1) a window that says "No Keygroup Selected
2) the sample mapping area
3) the osc, keygroups, layers, modulation areas etc

My dilema is that I do not have the thin long menu bar above the window that says "No Keygroup selected" In one of the videos on the MOTU site they show how to add an FM osc, or an analog stack, etc. The problem is I can't add an oscillator becasue the menu bar that holds that + sign is not there.

If I load up a patch in Biosphere or a sample from say Plugsound pro I can get that memnu to appear. But if I want to start from scratch how do is there a way to innitiate an FM osc, or wavetable without first having to load in a patch?

Sorry if this sounds vague. If it doesn't make sense I suppose I could screen grab the interface but I'm hoping this rings a bell with one of you guys and you may have had the same problem.

Any info would be appreciated.

All the very best,

Darren

When starting in an empty part.
right click in the mapping view. In the popup menu, create new keygroup.

Hope this helps.

Unfortunately, the manual, supplements etc don't always match reality. That is why this board is so helpful.
