New Mac/trying to install DP 7.24 with no luck

Hi there,
Just got a 2 x 2.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon MacPro with 6 GB RAM installed, running OS 10.7.3 (Lion). I bought a DP upgrade to 7.24 and I am trying ton install it. It accepted my authorization just fine, but doesn't open beyond scanning the AUs every time I launch. It announces an error to do with Modartt, makers of Pianoteq, then shuts down suddenly. (I have removed all remnants of Modartt and Pianoteq from my system, so this is baffling).
Any ideas on what I can try will be welcome! Thanks so much...

Probably not.
There are many things that can be causing this. Did you port everything to the new Mac? If so, how did you do it?
The first thing I would do is trash all preference files - everything. Over time everything you need will be rebuilt.
It's a PITA but reverting to a clean system and reinstalling your apps one at a time may be the only solution.
Still, I would run a support case - tech support may know the exact names of files to be deleted.

Third-party AUs will probably (unless it's different under 10.7) reside in:
Mac HD>>>>Library>>>>Audio>>>>Plug-ins>>>Components
Might wanna check that you removed any Modartt/Pianoteq stuff from here? or check those plugs for Lion updates??

In your User Folder/Library/Preferences/Digital Performer/, inside that folder there are a couple of prefs directly related to Audio Units. I'd start first with trashing those. It will rebuild your library of preferences and whatever was broken in there might work.
There's other prefs you can start to work on, and you don't have to trash them, you can drag them somewhere, so that if you locate the problem pref, you might be able to put others back and still be ok.
I think Onyx can check for corrupt prefs, but might not notice if DP has a bad file.
Probably safest is to remove DP preferences (to desktop) and let them rebuild from nothing. There's quite a few settings you have to go back and reset (and it might be good to take some notes as you go, in case this pops up again). Hopefully, your key bindings are saved somewhere safe.
