Bounce to disk problems

When I bounce to disk one of my vocal tracks is getting chopped off at the beggining of a phrase. All other phrases are fine. I tried removing compresros and other effects but to no avail. When I listen to the track in dp the entire phrase is there, but mysteriously it gets chopped when I bounce.
has anyone encountered this? If so any ideas as to how to get around this problem?

Stop bouncing to disk and print a stereo mix inside your session?

Bear in mind, BTD will only bounce what you select, which is why I usually make sure I select three or four bars past the ending of an entire mix just to get all of my reverb/delay trails. Is it possible you're not selecting the entire "clipped' phrase before bouncing?
Also, I've encountered this phenomenon before, not sure why DP does it. All it usually took was for me to re-bounce the mix (it seemed like it was a random thing) and make sure it had printed properly that time. In my case, it seemed to be a processing glitch. The worst case scenario, I quit DP, restarted my computer and reloaded the project.

I know more and more people who work this way. I have pretty good luck bouncing to disk, but considering that I have a UAD-2 plug in almost every project I'm limited to real time bounce so I might as well listen as it goes down I guess.

You're gonna love printing for that reason and others. I've been on many dub stages/ mixing rooms and have NEVER seen an engineer bounce...they always print to a 5.1 or stereo mix inside the session.

This discussion caused me to try a null test. I found a short punk song from one of the bands I record, and first bounced to disk. Then ported everything to an unused bus and printed to disk in real time. I use UAD-1 plugs and MOTU plugs of all kinds. Both of these test tracks started from 0, and went to the end of all soundbites. On playback, with the original tracks muted of course, it was twice as loud so I lowered to -6. Then I selected the print track and "reversed phase" with the MOTU plug. On playback, not a sound at all. I turned my system all the way up, just hiss. I then lowered one of the tracks to -6.1. I got a little audio. I was always wondering about this and this post got me to experiment. It seems like, on my system, printing or bouncing you get the same result. Feel free to do this for yourself and test your system.
