Ps3 Optical 896MK3 without Daw set up

I managed to figure out how to create a track and monitor the output via toslink and record a blu ray audio track and hear it do so.
How can I set it up to output to the mains out without having to use a recording program like Sonar? So that I can simply watch movies and listen through my monitors and not the TV speakers.
