Just got DP 7.24 up and running on my new iMac. At the moment I only have MOTU plugins in my DP system. When I try to SAVE an edited setting - e.g. tweaking a MW Equalizer - I get an error message: "Digital Performer has encountered an error. MacOS error: File not found (-43)"

I get the same error if I try to Show Presets in Finder.

Some plugins do not show the error message - they simply give me an error bleep if I try to save and do nothing if I try to show presets in finder.

Any ideas, good people?

Repair permissions using a freeware app.

If this doesn't work, check that your DP presets folder (~Lib/Audio/Presets) has permissions set so you can write as well as read (Command/I).

Thanks Monkey Man! Repair permissions did nothing. However, I went to the Library Audio folder and did CMD I to view Sharing & Permissions.

"System" was set to "Read & Write"; "Everyone" was Read only - as was a 3rd group called "wheel". No idea where that comes from but reading some posts on Apple Support discussion it seems to be a whole other can of Lion-related worms.

Anyway, I reset "Everyone" to Read & Write (I figured no harm done as I'm the only user anyway) and that's cured the problem. DP plug settings all behaving themselves and everything's stable.

DP 7.24 needs a folder MOTU located in /Library/Audio/Presets. So if this folder doesn't exist, you have to create one and this folder MUST have write access for everyone.

You can change the access rights with CMD+i keys or "Get Info" contextual menu, or you can use the following command in a terminal
