Motu 8pre -> Mixer

Hello.

I'd like to take advantage of the preamps on the 8pre and run them directly into a mixer. Is there a way to split the optical output into respective channels or is there a (rackmount) mixer that will accept these as input and split the channels?

Thanks!

There are digital mixers that can process 8 channels of ADAT separately to line outputs.

The MOTU 2408 (all versions) can do this in stand alone mode. An 828, 828mkII or 828mkIII likewise.

Behringer has their ADA8000, a one trick pony designed for this very purpose. $199 street price from most online vendors.

You rock, thank you!

In standalone mode, can I still run the 828mk3 firewire out to a computer?

Thanks.

Stand alone mode, by definition, is not connected to the computer :)

OTOH, using CueMix, you should be able to route the signals however you like when connected to the computer.

Here is a link to the available hardware manuals.
