I wish I could get into Hunter's libraries but they just don't sound that good. Okay for sketching stuff out of course but I'd never use them for finished products to clients.

I've had some success with the KH Studio Strings for light pop ballads and country. Simple 4 part writing with some runs and movement. Not the "Holy Grail", but not horrible, either.

I usually have to EQ a bit of the harshness (IMO) out of the Violas.

Still looking (maybe not hard enough!) for that Nashville or LA-ish string section sound. (12 strings 4-4-2-2)

Have you tried NI's Session Strings or Session Strings Pro? They actually sound great if you know what you're doing(some of the demos are naff) but aren't so good if you try to do the 2 handed piano player pads.

When Hunter agrees to enter the 21st century in terms of programming & scripting, he has plenty of raw material with which he *could* deliver the value that he charges people seeking entry-level strings for. Hasn't happened yet though.

(OK, maybe I'm still bitter about, and feel the fool over, the seven benjys I dropped (!!!) for his two-CD Virtuoso Strings set back in nineteen-ninety-something when I was young and gullible.)

Wow, this REALLY seems like "not such a good deal" when considering the ABOUT TO EXPIRE sale on Sonic Implants libraries that ends at midnight tonight (Central Time). $250 each for Strings, Woodwinds, and Brass.

Act fast! I goofed last time because I didn't notice the time zone restrictions.
