motu 2408 mk2 , pci 324, and a new pc problem

i got i ratherly new computer, 2 month old, and i got my hands on a second hand MOTU 2408 mk2, with is pci 324 card, after downloading the pci 324 driver, and downdate my windows 7 into xp i installed the driver as the readme says, and yet still it doesnot see it as the main audio inteface, also, i conected the 2408 mk2 to the pci using firewire cable
althoge my partner told me that it was conected by one of the tascam slots using an unknow by me form of cable, i don't the user manual
and will be gladfull for some helpfull answers, i'm here if you didn't get any of my problems or need any more info in order to help, thx agian and great week, rei InnerZone
