iTunes, QT distortion when DP is running

Hi everyone, please excuse me if this is posted in the wrong section.

I recently unplugged my old passive monitors from my PreSonus Firebox's analog mains and plugged some new JBL's into the FireBox's SPDIF out.
• When I launch DP (with Bidule going in through JackPilot) - everything's great.
• When I use iTunes, QuickTime, etc - same thing. Everything sounds great.
The trouble is when the DAW and iTunes (or QT) are running simultaneously - say if I'm trying to hear something in iTunes or QuickTime while the DP is running. Everything outside of the DP sounds distorted. The DAW still sounds fine though. This wasn't a problem when everything was going out of the analog OUTS before, and is not a problem when JackPilot isn't running, so my guess is that the conflict is with CoreAudio and Jack.

How do I get everything working together properly again?

Thanks in advance.

I'd check your sample rates in each of the programs....

I've noticed this on occasion with iTunes or a YouTube video while DP is in the background.

My workaround is just to go into the audio options within DP and change almost anything like buffer size from 256 to 512 and then back.

That seems to somehow reset the Mac's audio.

My 2¢!
