Has anyone ever seen this happen before in a DP project?

Has anyone here ever started playing a DP project and have it jump several hundred thousand (!!!) measures into the sequence? In my case after playing 2 measures from the beginning of the song it jumped to measure 447393. It has happened more than once and always jumps to a different place waaaaay far away. I've been using DP since 2.7 and have never experienced anything like this. I have a very clean system on a brand new Macbook Pro with all the latest updates.

Not exactly this. No. But it sounds like file corruption. I'd use the Load command to load the sequence in which you're working to a new project file. Be sure to include all things relevant to it -- audio, plugin settings, etc. See if that fixes the problem.

One of the features I never use in DP is MIDI transport control, so I'm not familiar with any part of it. The reason I mention it is I had a problem a while back where I was getting all sorts of erratic transport behavior and finally tracked it down to a MIDI track sending signals to the transport. If you have MIDI in your project, it may be something to take a look at. I can't remember how I turned it off. Perhaps someone familiar with this feature can add some insight.

Are you sure it is jumping measures and not changing to frames?

I will try and Load the project into a new file tonight. It is definitely not displaying frames because the real time read out is 248:33:04.85!! and I'm pretty sure it is not MIDI control because there is only two audio tracks in the whole project, but I will check my template for any MIDI anomalies later tonight.

Generally, that is activated/deactivated with the MIDI Masters in the COMMANDS window. You could turn off the Master Master, or the Transport Master. Master Master might also turn off something else you're purposely using, so be aware of that. These will not affect your computer keyboard commands; just MIDI control.
If you don't want to turn off the masters, you can go to the actual commands and delete the MIDI event that is causing it.

So . . . I think I figured it out. My new Macbook Pro (2011) boots into 64 bit kernel by default, even after a restart. So I found a Terminal script to permanently boot the machine into 32 bit mode. So far this has improved the problem, but it is still hard to nail down exactly what the problem is as far as it being DP or a plug in. TIme will tell if this is a permanent fix or not. Thanks for all the suggestions.
