I'm running a Ultralite mk3 hybrid under Win XP SP3. This is my machine:
Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz
Asus P6T motherboard
3 GB ram
I'm trying to play software instruments, but there seems to be problems in the MIDI stream. I've tried with 3 different vst hosts and a couple of standalone vst instruments.
When playing my motherkeyboard, I sometimes get arbitrary notes, notes "sticking out" from the rest at full volume, notes not getting played and notes "bunching up" and playing all at once.
In other words it's unusable in it's current "working" order. By the way, it's not like the "crackle" you get when setting the buffers too low.
However, I tried the Ultrlite with OSX. Guess what: no problem. Oh, by the way........this was OSX running on the same machine!!!!!!!!
So: is there a known MIDI problem with the windows drivers for the Ultralite???
Regards.

Re: MIDI clutter
Make sure that you have installed the current driver that is available from MOTU's website.
The leading cause of wrong answers is asking the wrong questions.
Re: MIDI clutter
The drivers was the very first thing I checked
I'm using version 4.0.4.4925 - downloaded from MOTU.
So, since things are working in OSX, the hardware should be able to do things properly. Hence my guess that there's a problem with MIDI in the (current) windows drivers.

Latest update:
I've now tried to run the Ultralite under WinXP, Vista, Win7(64) and OSX (on the same machine).
The MIDI performance on all three windows versions are the same: laughable!!!!!!!!
Guess I should have dug a little deeper for info on the net before purchasing this bugger. With all the features in this device, why are they unable to write functional drivers for MIDI?
Things are as they should be in OSX, but I can't run my windows VST's there can I!
I can't recomend this device to anyone. Hardware may be ok, but windows drivers are lacking, and support is a joke at best.
*/frustrated ranting "somewhat" off/*

Re: MIDI clutter
Yep. MIDI is broken on the MOTU devices under Windows. I've warned some people about this.
