Bad noises coming Macbook USB ports.

I am using an older titanium MacBook Pro to run tracks off of DP. I'm also sending USB patch changes to some external gear.
One of the pieces is a TC Electronics G-System effects pedal for guitar. When I plug in the USB to the GSystem, there is a high pitched noise coming from the computer that seemingly is tied to the processor or something "in" the computer. It will fluctuate with different computer actions ie. mouse clicks, opening software, etc.

I remember years back having this issue with my very first G5 and being able to turn off some sort of processor energy saver or something to get the noises from coming out of my studio speakers.

It almost sounds like RF interference noise .... I know it's not but it's reminiscent of that same sound.

Anyone know how to resolve this issue?

In my energy saver settings, there is no option for "processor performance".

I'm on 10.6.6 if that makes a difference.

Yes, 10.6.6 here, no energy-saver option.
And stuck with usb noise, too.

In some situations, I've noticed that a small usb-hub on non-audio devices, may reduce this usb noise.
