snow leopard with latest driver doesn't see 8pre. a ideas?

anybody out there that can help me. i've just installed snow leopard on my mac and the latest motu firewire driver and now my mac doesn't see my 8pre or my 828. i've tried 8pre on it's own and still nothing. any ideas, anybody?
