Microbook and Bose Companion 5

Hi all,
I recently purchased the microbook, and it is a splendid piece of work, however I have run into a couple of hickups.
When I try to connect the microbook to my Bose Companion 5 with a 3.5 mm stereo cable there is a whole lot of static and tinnitus-like sounds coming from the speakers, which isn't very pleasant.
Is there a way to route the audio so that the microbook is the main input/recording device, the Bose system as playback for everything that comes from the microbook (guitar) WITHOUT the damned cable? I want to have the option of using headphones or the speakers.
Thanks in advance
