I have this quote from Black Lion about my soon-to-arrive 896HD (never used one before).
'As far as controlling the gain goes, you are correct. You can use Cuemix to digitally control the gain'
If you can control the preamp gain from Cuemix, how does it work? Do the pots have to be set to 0? If you touch the pots when you have set gain levels from cuemix does it ruin the settings or is there some kind of bypass switch in Cuemix telling the unit to ignore any movement from the pots?

Re: digitally comntrolled gain in 896HD
It is not possible to control the 896HD's analog input trims from CueMix FX.
The leading cause of wrong answers is asking the wrong questions.

Weird, Black Lion reckon this (and they have my 896HD right now):
"When you are in Cuemix you have some basic gain controls. Motu calls it input trim, but is actually gain."
still not sure...any other thoughts?

They are wrong. Perhaps they are referring to the mixer controls (input channel faders and master faders), but those are not the same as the analog input trims.richgilb wrote:any other thoughts?
