DP 7.21 out, adds new pitch reference

Post by Kurt Cowling »

DP 7.21 is out. It includes the ability to use something other than A-440 as your reference for pitch correction.

Any other notable changes? …not that this new ability isn't earth-shatteringly convenient.

OTHER CHANGES
Improvements, optimizations, and refinements can be found in the following areas:
■ Analysis: waveform overview construction.
■ Import & Export: importing CAF files; importing Broadcast WAVE files with timestamps; attempting to export MP3 when LAME.framework is not installed.
■ Mixing Board: drop and drop of effects clippings.
■ Miscellaneous: consistency of commands and menu items; closing a project with the Preferences window open; reporting of missing soundbites when opening old projects.

Phil, that's awesome that the problem with olding old projects has been fixed!

I avoided buying a new computer last month because I thought I'd have to find the time first to open ALL of my legacy projects and resave them in a newer format (many haven't been opened since DP 3.5), using the slightly older DP 7 on my G4 iMac.
iMac 27" 2017 Quad-Core Intel i5 (3.8 GHz, 64 GB), OSX 13.6.6, MOTU DP 11.31, iZotope RX 10

importing Broadcast WAVE files with timestamps
I am hopeful this will make things a little easier when scoring to picture. Have had issues in the past in this area.

I, too, am very pleased MOTU is making DP a "continuous improvement" platform. Maybe MOTU is just celebrating Monkey Man's return to UNation!

I'm a bit confused. What hasn't been working with it? I've been dragging broadcast wavs from the finder into DP and they automatically go to the right place.

What's changed?
2*5-core 3.46 Intel xeon (32 gigs RAM), 2*dual 2.5 (16 & 32 gigs RAM), DP 8.07, WAVES 9, Lexicon plugs, SoundToys, all Spectrasonics, NI Komplete 9, Vienna Ensemble (extended), LASS, Evolve, Symphobia, etc, Cinesamples, Arturia, cinestrings, all Project Sam

Coming form Pro tools haven't worked for me AT ALL..

A couple of hours in (mixing a reggae live gig for a client) and all is good....
