MIDI score notes not showing up in quickscribe

Post by wonder »

I'm orchestrating for an album string session.
I'll usually MIDI input, then quantize and import the MIDI files into finale to save time.

When I open quickscribe, some sections and notes from certain tracks aren't there. They're empty bars, or filled with rests.

Any advice?

I'm on DP 7.1 in Mac os 10.5.x.

Thanks!

What about the notation window (that is not the quickscribe window if you are unfamiliar with it). Do you see the notes there? (Check the manual for access to that under used resource).

It's the old "don't show notes below x velocity" thing. Check under score or track options, I forget where it is, and uncheck it (it defaults to "on") Or else just change velocity in the track limiting it to a range of, say, 35 to 127 or so.

It's a feature intended to ignore ghost notes resulting from sloppy playing, but it bites you in the butt occasionally, I find...

Could it also possibly be "Ignore Mistakes"?
That probably wouldn't affect an entire bar, however.
