Microbook inputs question

The info online about the Microbook inputs indicates that one input is mic-level and the other is instrument-level. I was wondering if the drivers will let you configure both inputs to accept instrument-level/impedance signals?
I've got a friend that I would like to collaborate with who has a Rickenbacker bass that has two outputs and he'd like to track both output simultaneously.

Hey Barry,
Don't know if this is much help, but the only controls I see in Cuemix is phantom power on/off for the Mic input and trim (on all inputs) It looks kinda vaugue on the guitar input. The manual says it's designed to handle input directly from a guitar. Inputs 3-4 are 1/4" line and can be used as two mono inputs. Sorry I can't give you more info. Maybe I'd could run some tests for you sometime?

That does seem kind of vague. If you have time to check it out I'd appreciate it, I'm investigating this for a friend. My ULN-8 allows me to switch the input level and impedance for all the inputs and I was wondering if the Microbook does the same.
I suppose if input 1 was just a mic-level input I could give him a simple DI to get the other instrument-level input in.

The MicroBook's mic input can not be switched to instrument level. It is a low impedance, mic level input only. You could use a DI connected to the mic input or a MOTU Zbox or similar device connected to one of the back panel line inputs.

Thanks for verifying that for me. It looks like an external DI will be the way to go for him.
