MK828II HELP!

Ok, I bought an MK828II on ebay and am having trouble installing it on my new mac mini. I have the drivers and the software installed, it registers on CueMix FX, but I cannot get the sound to Garageband or audacity. I did hear what I was playing through my headphones, now I somehow lost that as well. It shows that a signal is being sent when I play though. I am running a bass with active eq into input 3 on the back of the unit. I have tried setting the audio setup stero inputs and outputs in every conceivable way. I've been at this all night long...pleaseeee help! I've tried plugging the bass into diffrent ports, it all shows up on CueMix, but no sound ever makes it to audacity or garageband. I've looked at several threads, but haven't found my answer.....

First, take a deep breath. Many of us have been there before. That being said, it helps if you list your system either in your post or in your sig. That helps us help you.
Now, have you opened AudioMidi in the utilities folder and seen if it appears there?
Are you using MOTU Audio Setup and what version of the driver?
Inputs enabled in software? Outputs?

Hope some of this helps...

I believe the inputs on the back are line level inputs, and your bass, unless it has an active built in amplifier (using typically a 9V battery) will require using one of the mic inputs. Are you running the bass through a different amp? Like was said - we need more info to be of much help.

Also be sure that the Motu 828 is selected in your program as well. I dont use audacity on my mac, but on my PC it seems to always default to whatever built in audio I have on my pc/laptop. So I have to click on the output and input boxes in Audacity to hear/record.
Ditto on using the front panel mic/inst inputs for bass. Better yet gett a DI box and plug in to the mic input.
