Ultralite MK3 & Windows Vista 64 + NOTHING

Post by jhan6120 »

Problems with getting UltraLite MK3 Hybrid and Vista 64. No sound, no matter what program I run. I installed the latest drivers from the Motu site successfully. Have UltraLite chosen as my default audio player in Device Manager. Audio and SMPTE panels open fine.

But - Cue Mix panel does not open. Instead, I get the error message:

"The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail."

This is as far as I got with Motu tech-help on the phone. Since I don't have Windoes SP 2 installed on my computer, he suggested I do that and see what happens. Currently installing SP 2. HOWEVER . . . I've heard that the UltraLite runs fine on SP 1.

Any thoughts? Really frustrated with this thing. It's just a soundcard, not a rocket ship. Shouldn't be so difficult.

I saw a similar error once and tech support told me to install some Microsoft C++ package. After that it worked fine.
The leading cause of wrong answers is asking the wrong questions.

I'm running a UL Hybrid and Vista HP 64 and don't have that particular problem.

My windows installation is up to date though so like 1in1out says run update until you are 100% up to date and report back.
