Logitech MX Revolution mouse battery - FREE!

... you think you do. At least I didn't.

My MX Revolution mouse (which I love) was blinking red LEDs indicating a dying battery. They're not hard to find (the MX-1000 is impossible to find!)

I was over at the Logitech support site and a guy posted that all he did was disconnect the battery for a few minutes and reconnect it. That reset the mini board on the mouse.

I tried it and sure enough, it is charging to full and holding for days again. So the moral of the story is don't buy a new mouse battery if you don't have to!

Just sharing. An MX-Revolution (discontinued) goes for $250 new on Amazon now with badly used ones starting at about $65. New battery is about $7 and a free battery costs about 5 minutes. At $7 each at a rate of 5 minutes per that comes to $60.00 USD, or a couple of interstellar 'keggers.'

SCroll to the bottom or read the page to learn how to take that little sucker apart.

Definitely scored. I have a bunch of setups for SteerMouse which works great for that little guy. If you take it apart, careful with the feet! They will stick back on, but you want to use an Exacto type blade to ease them off. Also, if the wheel seems like it's not "clicking" give it a good spin. There's an actual clutch in there! No wonder they stopped making them.

Geez... wow! $250 for a mouse. What is so bad about the new version of the mouse? I've heard some folks say they like it just fine. :?:

Well the Rev ver ☺ has kind of a clutch that I like a lot. I wouldn't spend that kind of coin for a mouse. I think I paid about $70 for mine a few years ago. The new ones also don't have the second wheel at the thumb which I use a lot as well.

Got it! Thanks for that explanation.
